Chart primary and permanent teeth on one record
The tooth chart uses FDI numbering and has a switch between permanent and primary dentition. The primary chart shows teeth 51 to 55, 61 to 65, 71 to 75 and 81 to 85, each named as a primary central incisor, lateral incisor, canine, first molar or second molar. The same child's record then carries the chart from one visit to the next.
Conditions that fit a child's mouth
For primary teeth the chart offers conditions such as caries, incipient and deep caries, reversible and irreversible pulpitis, pulp necrosis, periapical lesion and abscess, sinus tract, mobility and retained deciduous tooth. It also records unerupted and partially erupted teeth, so eruption status is written down instead of remembered. Furcation involvement is offered on molars only.
Treatments used on primary teeth
Treatment choices on primary teeth include composite and GIC fillings, pulpotomy, pulpectomy, stainless steel crown and sealant on the posterior teeth, space maintainer, extraction and temporary crown. They go into a treatment plan and onto the invoice, so what was planned, done and billed stay linked.
Consent from a parent or guardian
When the patient is under 18, the on-screen consent form pre-selects a parent or guardian as the signer and asks for the guardian's name and relationship. The consent forms themselves are the clinic's own templates, which it can edit.
Talk to the parent, not the child
Reminders and prescriptions on WhatsApp go to the contact number saved on the child's record, which for a young patient is normally a parent's. Keep the parent's number on the record and the messages reach the person who books the visit.
Set the appointment length for a child
The length of each appointment is chosen when it is booked, so a routine check-up for a young child can be given a shorter slot than a longer procedure. Yuktii does not pick the length automatically from the procedure; the clinic decides.
Recalls so preventive visits are not missed
Recalls are scheduled from the visit, and the recall list shows who is due. For how a clinic can set intervals by risk, see the guide on dental recall intervals and risk-based recall.
