01The ophthalmology clinic day: before and after
Without one system, a ophthalmology clinic typically keeps vision & refraction on paper, appointments in a separate register, and billing apart from the patient record — so reception, the doctor and billing are each working from a different source for the same visit. On Yuktii, one visit record carries the reception queue, vision & refraction and eye examination, prescriptions and GST billing together, so nothing has to be re-entered or reconciled by hand between the front desk and the ophthalmology doctor.
02Start with Patient Records
Most Ophthalmology clinics begin with Patient Records and Vision & Refraction, then add Eye Examination and Imaging & Reports on record once the team is comfortable. Appointments, prescriptions, GST billing and follow-up run on the same patient record throughout. For the full ophthalmology examination, documentation and patient journey, see Yuktii for ophthalmology.
03What the Ophthalmology examination records
The structured ophthalmology examination has 12 sections: Visual Acuity (Snellen), Refraction, Pupils, Extraocular Movements, External Eye, Anterior Segment, Intraocular Pressure (IOP), Fundus Examination, Visual Fields (Confrontation), Color Vision, Dry Eye Assessment and Other Tests / Notes. Findings are picked from lists or typed in, and are saved on the visit record. Some sections record specific fields, for example refraction (add (near) and near va), pupils (size and reaction) and external eye (lids / adnexa).
04What is ready when you enable Ophthalmology
When a clinic enables ophthalmology in Yuktii, the app creates a structured ophthalmology examination module, 82 quick-pick presets for complaints, examination findings and diagnoses, 9 prescription templates, 20 medicines, 3 consent forms and 10 procedure templates. All of it is editable, so you can rename, remove or add to it to match how your clinic works. The presets speed up documentation; the clinician decides what is recorded and prescribed.
05Examples from the Ophthalmology presets
Complaints you can pick from include Redness in eye, Eye pain, Watering eyes, Itching in eyes, Blurred vision and Foreign body sensation in eye. Examination findings include Conjunctival redness, Eye discharge noted, Corneal foreign body, Reduced visual acuity and Eyelid swelling. Diagnosis labels include Conjunctivitis, Refractive error, Dry eye syndrome, Stye and Cataract. These are starting labels to speed up note-taking, not clinical advice.
06Ophthalmology prescription templates
The starter templates are Conjunctivitis, Allergic Conjunctivitis, Dry Eye Syndrome, Corneal Abrasion, Bacterial Keratitis, Stye (Hordeolum), Post-Cataract Surgery Care and Glaucoma, and 1 more. Each is a pre-filled list the doctor edits before issuing, and the finished prescription can be downloaded as a PDF or sent on WhatsApp.
07Try it on real Ophthalmology patients
The first 20 patients are free with the full Ophthalmology workflow and no credit card, so you can run a genuine week of clinic before deciding. Solo then starts from ₹799/month and Pro from ₹1,499/month, depending on your specialty.
08Visual acuity and refraction, per eye
The eye examination records distance, near and corrected visual acuity for the right and left eye, and refraction with sphere, cylinder, axis and acuity for each eye, so a patient's glasses history builds up visit by visit.
09Anterior segment by structure
Conjunctiva, cornea, anterior chamber, iris and lens each have their own field. Lens options run from clear to early cataract, mature cataract and pseudophakia, so a cataract patient is described in consistent terms at every review.
10IOP, fundus and visual fields
Intraocular pressure is recorded per eye with the method and time, and the examination has sections for the fundus (optic disc, cup to disc ratio, macula, retina), visual fields, colour vision and dry-eye assessment.
11Vision and refraction fields
Structured vision and refraction fields record each eye separately, so findings at successive visits can be compared.
12A structured eye examination
A structured eye examination sits on the same record, alongside imaging and reports.
13Spectacle and drug prescriptions
Yuktii produces spectacle-prescription output as well as drug prescriptions from the same visit.
14Procedures with consent
Procedure templates with consent forms cover common in-clinic procedures, with follow-up and billing on the same record.
15What Yuktii does not do
It is built for outpatient practice: it does not run inpatient wards or operation theatres. Test the exact workflow you depend on in the free plan before committing; the first 20 patients are free with the full platform.
