01The gastroenterology clinic day: before and after
Without one system, a gastroenterology clinic typically keeps gi examination on paper, appointments in a separate register, and billing apart from the patient record — so reception, the doctor and billing are each working from a different source for the same visit. On Yuktii, one visit record carries the reception queue, gi examination and endoscopy & imaging on record, prescriptions and GST billing together, so nothing has to be re-entered or reconciled by hand between the front desk and the gastroenterology doctor.
02Start with Patient Records
Most Gastroenterology clinics begin with Patient Records and GI Examination, then add Endoscopy & Imaging on record and Clinical Documentation once the team is comfortable. Appointments, prescriptions, GST billing and follow-up run on the same patient record throughout. For the full gastroenterology examination, documentation and patient journey, see Yuktii for gastroenterology.
03What the Gastroenterology examination records
The structured gastrointestinal examination has 5 sections: General / Stigmata, Inspection (Abdomen), Palpation, Percussion & Auscultation and Per Rectal Examination. Findings are picked from lists or typed in, and are saved on the visit record. Some sections record specific fields, for example palpation (tenderness, liver, spleen, kidneys and mass).
04What is ready when you enable Gastroenterology
When a clinic enables gastroenterology in Yuktii, the app creates a structured gastrointestinal examination module, 85 quick-pick presets for complaints, examination findings and diagnoses, 8 prescription templates and 21 medicines. All of it is editable, so you can rename, remove or add to it to match how your clinic works. The presets speed up documentation; the clinician decides what is recorded and prescribed.
05Examples from the Gastroenterology presets
Complaints you can pick from include Abdominal pain, Acidity, Bloating, Nausea, Vomiting and Loose motions. Examination findings include Abdominal tenderness, Abdominal distension, Hepatomegaly, Splenomegaly and Icterus noted. Diagnosis labels include Acid reflux (GERD), Gastritis, Peptic ulcer disease, Irritable bowel syndrome and Fatty liver disease. These are starting labels to speed up note-taking, not clinical advice.
06Gastroenterology prescription templates
The starter templates are Acidity / Gastritis, GERD, Peptic Ulcer Disease, Acute Gastroenteritis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Constipation, Hemorrhoids / Anal Fissure and Fatty Liver Disease. Each is a pre-filled list the doctor edits before issuing, and the finished prescription can be downloaded as a PDF or sent on WhatsApp.
07Try it on real Gastroenterology patients
The first 20 patients are free with the full Gastroenterology workflow and no credit card, so you can run a genuine week of clinic before deciding. Solo then starts from ₹799/month and Pro from ₹1,499/month, depending on your specialty.
08Stigmata and the abdominal examination, section by section
The gastrointestinal examination is split the way the examination is done: general findings and stigmata (pallor, icterus, spider naevi, palmar erythema, flapping tremor and others), abdominal inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation. Findings are picked from lists, so a patient's abdomen is described in the same terms at each visit.
09Palpation recorded per organ
Palpation has separate entries for tenderness (from none to rebound, guarding, rigidity and Murphy positive), liver, spleen, kidneys and mass location. Percussion covers findings such as shifting dullness and fluid thrill, and auscultation covers bowel sounds and bruits.
10Per rectal examination when it is done
A collapsed Per Rectal Examination section is there for when it is needed, with findings such as mass, fresh blood, melaena, haemorrhoids, fissure and fistula, and a 'not done' option so the record shows it was not performed.
11Starter prescriptions for common outpatient conditions
Eight editable prescription templates cover acidity and gastritis, GERD, peptic ulcer disease, acute gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, haemorrhoids and anal fissure, and fatty liver disease. The gastroenterologist edits each before issuing, and the finished prescription goes to the patient as a PDF or on WhatsApp.
