01The nephrology clinic day: before and after
Without one system, a nephrology clinic typically keeps vitals & renal investigations on paper, appointments in a separate register, and billing apart from the patient record — so reception, the doctor and billing are each working from a different source for the same visit. On Yuktii, one visit record carries the reception queue, vitals & renal investigations and medication review, prescriptions and GST billing together, so nothing has to be re-entered or reconciled by hand between the front desk and the nephrology doctor.
02Start with Patient Records
Most Nephrology clinics begin with Patient Records and Vitals & Renal Investigations, then add Medication Review and Clinical Documentation once the team is comfortable. Appointments, prescriptions, GST billing and follow-up run on the same patient record throughout. For the full nephrology examination, documentation and patient journey, see Yuktii for nephrology.
03What the Nephrology examination records
The structured renal examination has 6 sections: Volume Status, Blood Pressure, General, Cardiorespiratory & Edema, Abdomen and Dialysis Access. Findings are picked from lists or typed in, and are saved on the visit record. Some sections record specific fields, for example volume status (assessment, signs and weight (kg)), blood pressure (supine, standing and control) and cardiorespiratory & edema (cvs, respiratory and edema).
04What is ready when you enable Nephrology
When a clinic enables nephrology in Yuktii, the app creates a structured renal examination module, 81 quick-pick presets for complaints, examination findings and diagnoses, 9 prescription templates and 20 medicines. All of it is editable, so you can rename, remove or add to it to match how your clinic works. The presets speed up documentation; the clinician decides what is recorded and prescribed.
05Examples from the Nephrology presets
Complaints you can pick from include Swelling in legs, Swelling around eyes, Decreased urine output, Frequent urination, Burning urination and Blood in urine. Examination findings include Pedal edema, Periorbital puffiness, Elevated blood pressure, Pallor and Renal angle tenderness. Diagnosis labels include Urinary tract infection, Kidney stones, Chronic kidney disease, Acute kidney injury and Nephrotic syndrome. These are starting labels to speed up note-taking, not clinical advice.
06Nephrology prescription templates
The starter templates are Urinary Tract Infection, Hypertension (CKD), CKD — Fluid & Electrolyte Management, Renal Anemia, CKD-Mineral Bone Disease, Hyperkalemia, Nephrotic Syndrome and Acute Pyelonephritis, and 1 more. Each is a pre-filled list the doctor edits before issuing, and the finished prescription can be downloaded as a PDF or sent on WhatsApp.
07Try it on real Nephrology patients
The first 20 patients are free with the full Nephrology workflow and no credit card, so you can run a genuine week of clinic before deciding. Solo then starts from ₹799/month and Pro from ₹1,499/month, depending on your specialty.
08Volume status and blood pressure at every review
The renal examination starts with volume status (euvolaemic, hypervolaemic or hypovolaemic, with signs such as raised JVP, pedal or sacral oedema and ascites, and a weight field for dry weight against today) and blood pressure recorded supine and standing, with a control rating.
09Dialysis access findings in the clinic visit
A Dialysis Access section records AV fistula or graft findings (for example good thrill and bruit, weak thrill, infected, aneurysm) and central or tunnelled line findings (site clean, exit-site infection, blocked line). It records what the doctor finds at the outpatient review.
10Starter prescriptions for kidney care
Nine editable prescription templates cover urinary tract infection, hypertension in CKD, CKD fluid and electrolyte management, renal anaemia, CKD mineral bone disease, hyperkalaemia, nephrotic syndrome, acute pyelonephritis and post-dialysis nausea. The nephrologist edits each before issuing.
11Reports and recalls
Lab and other investigation reports can be uploaded to the patient record and opened at the next visit, and recall lists show patients who are due back.
