How clinics cut no-shows & missed follow-ups

Reminders reduce no-shows
A confirmed appointment is far more likely to be kept than an unconfirmed one. A WhatsApp reminder a day before, with a simple way to confirm or reschedule, removes most avoidable no-shows.
Recalls only work if they are a list, not a memory
'Come back in six months' is not a system. A recall is booked from the visit, appears on a due list, and generates a reminder when the date approaches. If the clinic is relying on the patient to remember, most will not.
Close the loop on the ones who slip
Some patients miss the reminder. A weekly pass over the recall list for anyone overdue, with a follow-up message, recovers a meaningful share of them.
Watch the rate, not just the day
Track the no-show rate and the recall-return rate over months. If they are not improving, the reminders are not landing or the front desk is not working the overdue list — both are fixable.
