Each treatment has a plan made of items. An item records the tooth number, the procedure, an estimated cost and its status (planned, in progress or completed), and can carry its own note. The plan shows a running total, and items can be added, changed or removed as the case changes, so the patient sees what is proposed and what it adds up to.
A longer treatment can be split into numbered stages. A stage has a status (pending, ready, in progress, completed, skipped or cancelled) and its own notes, so the dentist opening the next sitting sees what happened at the last one. Appointments can be booked against a specific stage.
Clinics can save treatment templates with a set of stages and reuse them, instead of rebuilding the same sequence for every patient. Templates are the clinic's own and can be edited.
A stage can carry an extra charge. Stage charges that have not yet been invoiced are offered when the clinic bills the patient, so completed work does not slip past billing. Invoices are GST-ready and payments are tracked against them.
A treatment plan PDF gathers the patient and clinical details with the stages and their dates, and the next planned stage. The clinic can download it or send it to the patient on WhatsApp, so the patient has the plan in writing after leaving the chair.
A consent form can be attached to the treatment and signed on screen, including by a parent or guardian for a minor, and it is stored with the record.
